2 Containers of Stainless Steel Angles Seizes as Mis-Declared Cargo in Manila-The 21st China(Guangzhou)Int'l Stainless Steel Industry Exhibition

Philippines Bureau of Customs, through the Intelligence Group Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service and the Port of Manila, seized on Tuesday, 29 October 2019 2 containers of mis declared stainless angle bars from China. BOC Deputy Commissioner for Intelligence Raniel Ramiro said the shipment, loaded in two container vans, were declared as flat bars, but were found to contain stainless angle bars and steel sheets. The container vans were consigned to Liuzhiga International Trading. They arrived at the Port of Manila from China last October 19.
The BoC has not yet determined the value of the seized goods.
Earlier, Customs Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero ordered a tight watch on all steel importations amid reports that sub-standard steel products continue to flood the country, putting at risk the lives and limbs of Filipinos.
