Japanese stainless steel production rises in Jan -The 19th China(Guangzhou)Int'l Stainless Steel Industry Exhibition

According to the statistics, the production of Japanese stainless steel hot-rolled product was around 255,000 tons in January, up by 1.2% month on month and up by 6.4% year on year.
Among them, the production of chromium series stainless steel totaled around 124,000 tons, rising by 4.0% compared to last month; that of nickel series stainless steel totaled around 131,000 tons, falling by 1.2% compared to the same month a year ago.
In the same period, the production of special-purpose steel was around 7,200 tons, decreasing by 4.4% from the same period a month earlier and increasing by 16.1% from the same period of the previous year.
Besides, as of the end of January, the inventory of stainless steel product amounted to around 132,000 tons, hiking by 7.7% from the same period a month ago; that of other specialty steel was around 3,700 tons, growing by 16.9% from the same period last month.
