It is reported that the United Steelworkers (USW) asked the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) to put anti-dumping duties on hot-rolled steel imports against seven countries.
This decision was to place antidumping duties on hot-rolled flat steel from seven countries. These countries are Australia, Brazil, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, Turkey and the United Kingdom.
The steel producers from these 7 countries are blamed to dump hot-rolled steel at below market prices in the U.S. market. The USA government will enforce international trade laws to defend American manufacturing jobs because the domestic steel sector is facing a crisis caused by a flood of unfairly priced imports.
