It is reported that Korea’s POSCO has set up a subsidiary company in India on October 9. The new company named POSCO Maharashtra Steel which will mainly supply galvanized steel for automobile industry in India.
The designed annual capacity of this new plant is about 450,000 tonnes and the new plant is expected to be commissioned in around May 2012.
The total investment value of this new plant is about USD 20 million. Actually, POSCO has contacted India''s local government for the land acquiring process and other issues since early 2009.
