Taiwanese steel buyers had no interests to import the carbon steel plate from oversea market because of anti-dumping. Therefore, Taiwanese steel buyers could only buy from China Steel Corporation(CSC).
As CSC raised AP plate base price by NT$300/ton for November, and downstream customers had pressure to offset the price hike to their customers. They almost got no profit to sell CSC''s AP plate.
However, CSC might increase its AP plate prices for December. CSC''s downstream customers had more challenge to offset the high raw material cost. If demand was not strong enough, they could only absorb the price by themselves.
