According to report of World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS), the global
copper supply was in a shortage of 296,000 tons in the first half of this
year.
Copper market recorded a surplus of 38,800 tons in
2013.
China’s increasing production has compensated for output decline
in Chile and Germany.
Global output of refined copper totaled 1.08
million tons, up by 2.7% year on year
