Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK), one of the world''s largest steel producers in Russia, reported that its iron ore output totaled around 690,000 tons in the fourth quarter of 2021, a quarter-on-quarter decrease of 13.8%. The output in 2021 amounted to roughly 2.91 million tons, up by 0.7% year on year.
In terms of steel-related products, in the fourth quarter of 2021, MMK’s crude steel output had a quarter-on-quarter increase of 3.3% to around 3.5 million tons, and the pig iron output dropped by 1.5% quarter on quarter to 2.58 million tons.
In 2021, MMK’s crude steel output totaled around 13.59 million tons, rising by 17.4% compared to the previous year; the pig iron output was 10.42 million tons, hiking by 11.5% year on year.
