According to statistics, Taiwan¡¯s imports of 300 series stainless steel hot-rolled coils amounted to around 39,200 tons in November, falling by nearly 21% from the previous month. The import volume has reduced for four months in a row.
However, the average price of 300 series stainless steel HRC soared to NT$80,600/ton levels during the period, hiking by more than NT$4,600 month on month. This figure has hiked for five consecutive months, hitting a new high in the past seven years.
In the first 11 months of this year, Taiwan¡¯s imports of 300 series stainless steel HRC totaled around 635,000 tons, close to the total import volume last year. The average import price has risen to nearly NT$62,900/ton.
Based on the current import situation, Taiwan¡¯s 300 series stainless steel HRC imports will increase for four consecutive years this year, with greatly rebounded import prices.
