It was forecasted by the Fitch Ratings Inc. that Indian bauxite industry was expected to continue jumping up in the coming months and further years.
The increased bauxite output followed the growing demands of India’s aluminum smelters. It was predicted that the bauxite output volume will increase from 30.9 million tons in 2018 to 50.7 million tons by 2027.
Since February 2018, the Odisha’s government approved a long-term policy to allow Vedanta Limited to purchase raw material of bauxite from Odisha Mining Corporation.
The government is responding the protection request of the local mills to against the low-priced imported aluminum from overseas, especially from the US and China.
