According to the result of questionnaire survey made by the Chile''s Copper Commission (Cochilco) to 14 experts, the international average copper price was predicted at US$2.50~2.75/lb in 2017.
Among 14 experts, 11 experts predicted that the copper market would be a shortage this year with an average of 151,000 tons, while the other 3 experts predicted an excess of 183,000 tons.
As of May 18th, the international copper average price was US$2.62/lb this year, up by 20% compared with US$2.14/lb last year.
