Floating NPP Delivered 10 million kWh of Electric Power to Chukotka Grid—The 21st China(Guangzhou)Int’l Heat Treatment, Industrial Furnace Exhibition

The floating nuclear heat and power plant FNHPP, a project by the Rosenergoatom Joint-Stock Company, a part of ROSATOM, has delivered its first 10 mln kWh of electric power into the isolated network of the Chauny-Bilibino hub (the Chukotka Autonomous Region) since its connection to the grid on December 19, 2019.
As of now, the FNHPP caters for 20% of the Chauny-Bilibino hub’s needs, and in the meantime it is intended to fully cover the growing demand for electric power in Chukotka by becoming a reliable source of energy for both the city of Pevek and the whole region in general.
