In the US beverage market, aluminum has been gradually replacing plastic to become a more sustainable option for environmentally conscious consumers in the US.
This market transformation is threatening the entrenched position of plastics in the American beverage industry; in contrast, it is helping to enhance shares of companies, such as Ball Corp., the world’s largest aluminum can maker.
As aluminum cans will get more market shares than plastic, it was expected that the demand in the US for aluminum sheet used for making beverage cans will increase 3% to 5% a year by at least 2025.
