METI: Japanese crude steel production expected to drop in Q4 y-o-y—The 21st China(Guangzhou)Int’l Heat Treatment, Industrial Furnace Exhibition

According to the forecasts released by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Japanese crude steel production in the fourth quarter (October to December) will drop by 0.1% year on year to around 25.7 million tons, which will go down for six consecutive quarters.
The decrease in demand from manufacturing such as the auto industry was the main reason for the drop in crude steel production since the export performance in automobiles and auto parts sector was weak, said the METI.
