Chinese crude steel production slides to six-month low in Sep—The 21st China(Guangzhou)Int’l Heat Treatment, Industrial Furnace Exhibition

According to the data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Chinese crude steel output in September dropped by 5.4% to the lowest level during the recent six months.
It was impacted by an array of production restrictions before Chinese National Day on October 1st. Those primary steelmaking districts included Beijing, Hebei, and Tianjin all issuing pollution alerts especially during the last week of September.
The blast furnaces’ weekly utilization rate plunged by 56.2% which reached the lowest point during recent over seven-year in the week ended October 4th.
However, Chinese production in the first nine months hiked apparently by 8.4% compared with the same period of the previous year. Analysts pointed out that it wouldn’t expect to decline further during the coming months.
