At present, the global steel industry continued to be cold, coupled with sluggish domestic and export demand, oversupply and tightened liquidity funds.
Indian Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) had been impacted by stagnant demand and high inventories, and definitely adjust its production to release inventory pressure, and one of its blast furnaces has been shut down in the near future.
VSP has four blast furnaces with an annual capacity of 7.4 million tons, and the company''s annual output of heat-treated steel was about 4.5 million tons. In addition, VSP has the intention to extend the closure period of its rolling plant since maintenance shutdown last month, reducing monthly capacity about 70,000 tons.
However, VSP was also facing inventory pressure problems as other mills. Market participants believed that if there still no sufficient infrastructure development and real estate activities, and the mills'' sales and performance would be more difficult in the future.
