It was reported that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has won the 2019 Indian general election, and it was expected to benefit the Indian steel industry.
Sushim Banerjee, Director General of Institute for Steel Development and Growth, said that the main demand in Indian steel industry in recent years was from public investments in infrastructure, such as roads, railways, urban infrastructure, and so on. Therefore, the growth of fixed asset investment in infrastructure will drive an increase in steel demand after the Indian election.
