Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Corporation (FHS)’s No.2 blast furnace ran smoothly after starting operations this May in Vietnam.
The Chairman of FHS said that he will assess the construction of the No.3 blast furnace by next year at the earliest after No.2 blast furnace operates fully, and will put the government, stockholders and market into his evaluation.
At present, the capacity of No.2 blast furnace had reached 95%, and it was expected that the full capacity will be reached by the end of the year or the beginning of next year.
The chairman also said that the No.2 blast furnace ran smoothly and it was estimated that No.2 blast furnace could produce 5 million tons of hot metal this year, and the annual sales of steel products would reach 4.65 million tons. Among them, hot-rolled steel products would account for 85% of the annual sales, and the annual turnover would reach US$2.5 billion.
