Shiloh Industries Inc., Valley City, Ohio, has opened an aluminum diecasting plant in Clarksville, Tenn. The lightweighting, noise and vibration products supplier bought the site in August 2013.

The company estimates it will invest more than $20 million and add 150 jobs at the plant during the next five years. The Clarksville facility is about 125,000 sq. ft. and one of Shiloh’s five large tonnage, high pressure diecasting facilities in the United States.

“Shiloh has received strong demand for our industry-leading portfolio of lightweighting solutions,” said Ramzi Hermiz, president and CEO, Shiloh Industries. “We are investing and expanding our operations to meet customer demand, and are continually focused on leading with technology to develop products and solutions that address industry pinch points.”

Since taking control of the Clarksville plant, Shiloh reports it has been steadily investing in the facility, including upgrades to the quality lab, diecasting cells, X-ray systems and employee facilities. The plant also is expanding its range of 1600-ton diecasting machines to include a 2,500-ton machine and overall infrastructure improvements.
