Kenmode has opened a 20,000-sq.-ft. Tech Center in Algonquin, Ill., dedicated to R&D, prototyping, engineering, tool design and build, and program management for new precision metal stampings.
The company’s existing 80,000-sq.-ft. operations facility is being reconfigured to handle higher-volume production and to make room for new equipment. The expansion enables the firm to provide a broader array of metal stampings and value-added services to clients in industries including automotive, medical devices, insert molding, and electronics.
Presses have been installed in the new facility to be used exclusively for prototyping and die tryouts. In the past, die tryout runs would have to be scheduled around regular production runs.
