According to the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), the week ending on April 11, 2026, US domestic rawsteel production was 1.843 million net tons while the capacity utilization rate was 79.8 percent.
Production for the week ending on April 11, 2026, increased 0.7 percent from the previous week ending April 4,2026, when production was 1.831 million net tons and the rate of capacity utilization was 79.1 percent.
Production was 1.684 million net tons in the week April 11, 2025, while the capacity utilization was 75.0 percent.
The current week production represents a 9.4 percent increase from the same period in the previous year.
Adjusted year-to-date production through April 11, 2026, was 25.871 milion net tons, at a capacity utlizationrate of 77.5 percent. That is up 5.5 percent from 24.519 million net tons during the same period last year, whenthe capacity utilization rate was 76.1 percent.
