According to data from Statistics Canada, the country''s iron and steel imports totaled 857,269 mt in February2026, down by 58.7 percent year on year. By value, iron and steel imports totaled $558.62 million in February2026, compared to $907.87 million in the same month of 2025.
In the given month, Canada imported the most iron and steel from the US with 233,444 mt. Other top sources ofimported iron and steel in February include South Korea with 21,318 mt.
In the January-February period last year, Canada''s iron and steel imports amounted to 5.63 million mt, down by60.2 percent year on year. By value, iron and steel imports totaled $1.31 billion in the first 2 months of 2026,compared to $1.79 billion in the corresponding period of 2025
