Zhejiang’s fastener steel or iron standard fasteners jumped 21.2% year-on-year to 6,746 tons, and up 12% year-on-year to RMB 420 million in value during the months of Jan.-Oct. The average import price dropped 7.6% to RMB 62,000/ton.
So far the fastener imports for Zhejiang province have remained above 650 tons this year. The fastener imports in October showed a slight increase of 0.6% year-on-year to 656 tons while down 16% month-to-month. The average import price in October grew 3.3% year-on-year to RMB 65,000/ton, and up 8.8% month-on-month.
Japan is Zhejiang’s largest fastener imported country of origin. Imports of fasteners from Japan surged 40.7% to 4,819 tons during the months of Jan.-Oct, taking up 71.4% of the province’s total import volume. In addition, Zhejiang’s fastener imports from Taiwan and EU amounted to 704 tons and 479 tons, down 12% and 11.2%, respectively.
