that promotes manufacturing and engineering has promoted Charles Addison, one of its founding group directors, to chief operating officer. This is a new role to reflect the growth of the company over the past 12 months.Working closely with the CEO Jason Pitt, Addison will be responsible for ensuring that the business operations are efficient and effective and ultimately that Made in the Midlands members receive the very best service.Pitt said, “Charles has been with us from the beginning in 2009. He has been instrumental in our growth and he will be the driving force as we progress further. He has a great understanding of the industry and is well respected across our membership. I’m delighted that he has accepted the role.”The appointment comes as Made in the Midlands launched its own industry focused magazine and a series of hyper-local breakfast club networking sessions. They have also recruited new staff, opened satellite offices in Birmingham and the East Midlands and are planning a members-only lobbying visit to Westminster.Addison said, “I can’t wait to get started, we are growing all the time and I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead. These are exciting times for manufacturing, industry in the Midlands is driving the growth of the economy nationally and we are here to ensure that it is successful, sustainable and recognised.”
