Because some commercial and industrial cities in China have been lifted from lockdown, the requirement for air freight rises along with increasing production.
Taiwan’s China Airlines and EVA Air announced that freight charges from Taiwan to China will increase by 30% to 35%. Due to the growth of China’s economy after May, the shipment increases gradually.
The average freight charge from Taiwan to Shanghai might hike to NT$100/kg, and some of the cities might hike to NT$160 to 170/kg.
Besides that, Cathay Pacific, China Airlines, and EVA Air announced to increase fuel surcharges after May 10. It increases by 13% from NT$43/kg to $49/kg for long-distance flights, and up by 13% from NT$15/kg to $17/kg for Asian flights.
