Ternium''s new plant in Colombia''s Palmar de Varela produced 282,000 tons of steel in the first year of operation.
The company expected to be able to produce 309,000 tons of steel in the first quarter of 2022, mainly to supply the domestic construction sector.
Sebasti¨¢n Castro, president of Ternium Colombia, commented that this plant has the capacity to produce 520,000 tons of steel per year, which will cover 100% of the material needed to carry out national infrastructure works.
