Nornickel, a nickel and palladium mining and smelting company in Russia, announced to reduce the 2018 production forecast for the Bystrinsky copper project near the Chinese border, mainly due to the breakdown of equipment. Nornickel hoped to correct the production in the second quarter.
Nornickel said that the production from Bystrinsky copper project was currently expected to be 25,000 to 31,000 tons for 2018, down from 35,000 to 40,000 tons of the previous forecast.
