Platts reported that China imported 847,635 tonne of copper concentrate from Peru over January-February, up 7.8% year on year. According to data released by General Administration of Customs last week. Peru is China’s top supplier for copper concentrate.
The other suppliers were Chile (734,674 tonne), Australia (224,709 tonne), Mexico (210,746 tonne), Mongolia (204,422 tonne), Spain (143,067 tonne), Kazakhstan (120,897 tonne), Canada (95,740 tonne), Iran (92,260 tonne) and Indonesia (70,032 tonne).
Imports from these 10 countries totaled 2.74 million tonne, representing 89.3% of China’s total copper concentrate imports of 3.07 million tonne during the period.
