India''s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, said on February 22 that after concluding a free trade agreement with the UAE last week, India has set a goal of concluding a similar economic cooperation agreement with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) by the end of 2022.
"We are confident in our ability to negotiate, we are rapidly negotiating with the UAE, and we are confident that we will conclude a similar trade agreement with the GCC this year," said Goyal.
Goyal also said an interim free trade agreement or early harvest agreement with Canada would be concluded and signed soon.
