Russian Severstal's HRC exports to EU increase in 2018-The 20th China (Guangzhou ) Int’l Casting product Exhibition

Russian steel manufacturer Severstal transferred its main hit-rolled coil sales to the EU market last year, with a significant export volume. Based on the company''s business report, Severstal sold 400,000 tons of hot-rolled coil to the EU in the fourth quarter of 2018, but only 50,000 tons were exported to the Middle East.
Severstal is the only supplier of Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) for EU market. Therefore, the EU decided a very low and fixed tax rate for it.
In 2018, the firm sold 1.5 million tons of hot-rolled coil to the EU, an annual increase of 305%. From January to November last year, total export volume reached around 1.5 million tons.
While in 2017, the EU launched anti-dumping investigation against hot-rolled coil from Brazil, Iran, Russia, Ukraine and Serbia. Before final judgment in October 2017, Severstal only exported small amount of hot-rolled coil to the EU.
