Ukraine’s Ukrmetprom to cooperate with World Steel Dynamics-The 19th China (Guangzhou ) Int’l Casting product Exhibition

UNIAN reported that Ukrmetprom, the association of Ukrainian steel-making enterprises and World Steel Dynamics (USA) signed a memorandum of cooperation in Kyiv on 24 April. The deal could lead to Ukraine being a European platform for industry professionals from across the globe. The parties are looking to hold international industry forums and conferences for top industry executives to share ideas and experience.
President of Ukrmetprom Oleksandr Kalenkov said “The cooperation with World Steel Dynamics is likely to create additional opportunities for the steel-producing businesses of Ukraine to gather data, expertise and essential skills. This is an opportunity for Ukrainian companies to establish their presence in new markets and industries.
He said “The global metallurgy market is extremely competitive. We hope to create a situation, where companies compete with each other not only in production costs, but also in customer service, the quality of their products, and access to new markets. If that is the case, it would create substantial support not only for the metallurgy sector, but for the Ukrainian economy as a whole.”
Kalenkov said that the agreements are also within the framework of the nation’s export strategy that could considerably influence the metallurgy industry, which provides some 28% of Ukraine’s revenues denominated in foreign currency.
