en.aps.dz reported that steel complex of Bellara (Jijel, 359-km east of Algiers) will be commissioned in April.
Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal in Annaba announced that Bellara steel complex would consolidate the national strategy, which aims at stopping steel import.
Bellara steel complex, whose construction works were launched in 2015, is due to produce, in the first stage, 2 million tonnes of steel products per year, before doubling its output in the second stage.
The steel complex will produce flat bar steel and special steels, and will contribute to the development of many industrial fields, like rail and car industries.
