According to statistics from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US exported around 34,800 tons of hot-rolled steel bars in December 2021, decreasing by 17.4% compared to the previous month but rising by 22% from the same month a year earlier.
Among them, the exports to Canada accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 20,700 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 4.2% and a year-on-year hike of 38.2%. Mexico ranked second with roughly 13,300 tons, and the exports to other countries were less than 1,000 tons.
During the period, the export value totaled around US$50 million, down by 15.2% month on month and up by 54.7% year on year.
