Essar Steel Algoma will start maintenance schedule this week, whereas the stop plate and strip production, there are 300~330 employees will be temporarily shut down.
The company said, due to steel plate market remained weak, it was decided to shut down for maintenance. In addition, the company said that the technical issues of 7th blast furnace, will reduce the production capacity of the blast furnace in the repair period.
Despite the maintenance week, the company will continue to service customers and delivery shipment accordingly.
