    McInnes Rolled Rings has just finished an $8 million, 25,000-square-foot expansion to its facility in Erie, Pa. With this addition the company¡¯s heat-treat size capabilities are increased by providing the ability to quench and temper forgings up to 144 inches in diameter. With separate high-agitation water and polymer quench tanks, the new state-of-the-art bay will expand the company¡¯s daily capacity to ensure fast delivery times. McInnes worked with Can-Eng Furnaces to design and install advanced technology to process large-diameter products. The furnace and quench-tank designs work with a customized material-handling system capable of processing loads up to 25 tons.
Heat Treatment Australia announced recently that they were making some major investments and changes including a new plant in California and a big expansion to the main plant in Brisbane, Australia. The photo below shows the beginning of the addition. Michael Cousin who has been involved in the heat treating business with companies such as Park Thermal, AFC-Holcroft and Blackhawk Thermal Systems recently made a change and for the past month has been working as Senior Technical Manager-Atmosphere Products for Ipsen in Rockford, Illinois. Scott Workman is a real well known fellow in the heat treating industry having worked with companies as diverse as Byington Steel Treating in California, Meritor, Volkswagen in China and Ameriforge in Houston, Scott just started at captive heat treater Stanley Black and Decker in the Dallas, TX area. Don Giessel is another very experienced heat treater who recently make a change.  For the past few years Don was Regional Business Development Manager with Bodycote and before that he was General Manager of the Bodycote, New Berlin, WI facility. Don is now with FPM Heat Treating in Milwaukee, Wisconsin a company he worked for a number of years back. Eric Boltz has been in the industy for quite some time, mainly being involved with Marathon Controls which became part of the UPC Group a number of years back. Eric was involved in a tragic accident last year and we understand that he parted ways with UPC ealier this year as did Yvonne Boltz who was also involved in the company
