TimkenSteel will idle its Harrison melt and cast assets in Canton, Ohio, later this quarter., according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Future melting and casting activities will take place at the company’s Faircrest location, also located in Canton.
The idling will potentially affect approximately 100 USW employees at the facility. The company’s rolling and finishing operations at Harrison will not be affected by the decision.
TimkenSteel is reviewing its Harrison melt and cast assets to determine potential alternate uses for selected assets.
