The bridge project of Ministry of Railways (Bangladesh), an 11.3 km multi-purpose steel beam bridge, will be planned to build in Jamuna River region, about 100 km from the capital Dhaka.
Estimated steel demand of this project was 140,000 tons, of which 100,000 tons were pipe piles and 40,000 tons of other steel plates. At present, three Japanese enterprises have tendered, and some China companies were eliminated due to lack of transaction records in the past.
The project was expected to be officially opened for tender this summer. In general, pipe piles demand for 2-3 million tons would be a large order, so the demand of 100,000 tons was bound to be finished by many suppliers.
There were two Japanese enterprises who provided pipe piles, and its steel mills were located in Vietnam. Therefore, the piles required for this project should come from Vietnam.
The bridge project was expected to start in the second half of this year and will be completed in 2024.
