It was reported that the imports of EU''s steel plates have been in a low level this year. However, the recent trade safeguards have complicated the situation, so the trend in European trade was likely to reverse and the EU might become a net exporter.
A senior trader said there was little difference in global prices. The prices from China and Europe were close, and the European steel mills were likely to get opportunities from the original Southeast Asian import market. At present, some Middle Eastern customers might choose European resources rather than China resources.
