Cardinal Fastener, opened in 1983 and acquired by the Wurth Group in 2011 will be closing the plant and transferring the equipment to Dokka Fasteners, Inc. located in Auburn Hills, MI. Dokka Fasteners Inc. is part of the Wurth Hot Forging Group. The transition is anticipated to be complete within 90-120 days. “The decision to close the Cardinal Fastener operation was difficult after being in business over thirty years. Unfortunately, having two separate plants with similar capabilities located so close together became increasingly difficult to justify. We appreciate the support of our customers and plan on supporting their needs again after the equipment has been installed and commissioned at the Dokka Fasteners operation. Every effort will be made to minimize the impact of the transition on our valued customers.” Marc Strandquist, EVP of the Wurth Group Dokka Fasteners Inc. is a state-of-the-art hot forging and machining operation utilizing automation and robotics throughout the plant to manufacture products of superior quality and used in some of the most critical applications and harshest environments. The plant opened in late 2010 North of Detroit in Auburn Hills, MI. With the addition of equipment from Cardinal Fastener, Dokka Fasteners will have expanded capabilities to better support our customer’s requirements.
