As all carbon steel products were having an appreciation, American domestic price for carbon steel wire was also increasing slowly and the lead time for industrial level used wires was about 4–6 weeks.
However, as holidays were approaching, there was not much movement at this moment. In regards to the appreciation of carbon steel wires, the market also holds different thoughts.
Some believed that the wires could have more room to raise because scrap metal was most likely to keep rising in early 2020 and buyers were not having much inventory.
The other factor was that the trade war between the US and China had calmed down a bit, which also helped wires’ price growing.
Some believed the other way – all industries were still not having prosperous signing shown up, especially for the manufacturing industry.
Due to the general economy has not yet recovered fully, market players thought the demand would remain low and it wouldn’t provide momentum to support all carbon steel products’ appreciation.
