Type MPP™ microPEM® self-clinching pins from PennEngineering® are suitable for micropositioning and alignment applications in compact electronic assemblies. The pins clinch permanently in metal sheets as thin as 0.020 in. The chamfered end of the pin enables mating-hole alignment, and the head of the installed pin is flush in the host sheet.

The pins, which can be installed automatically, come in diameters as small as 0.040 in. and lengths as short as 0.080 in. Manufactured from precipitation-hardened stainless steel, they provide corrosion resistance.
