Turkish pig iron imports

According to statistics from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey imported roughly 140,000 tons of pig iron in March, soaring by 43.4% from the previous month and 36.7% from the same month a year ago. The import value was approximately US$42 million, rising by 43.4% month on month and 11.4% year on year.
In the first three months of 2020, the import volume of Turkish pig iron was about 340,000 tons, going up by 3.4% year on year. The import value was around US$105.7 million, decreasing by 11.2% year on year.
Among them, Turkey imported about 163,000 tons from Russia, falling by 36.94% year on year. The second major supplier was Ukraine with about 89,000 tons, soaring by 79.92% year on year.
