Primetals assists Chile's CAP Acero reconstruct steel mill-2019 China(Guangzhou) Int’l Laser Equipment and Sheet Metal Industry Exhibition

CAP Acero mainly produced long products and wires for the mining and construction industries, and Primetals was a leading global engineering and equipment steel supplier.
CAP Acero and Primetals re-traded in October, mainly renovating the No.1 converter in the plant and erecting the Vaicon Stopper pneumatic slag removal system on the No.2 converter.
The Vaicon Stopper system was able to effectively control the quality of steel, and it was estimated that 2-3 kg of slag and oxidizing substances could be reduced per ton of steel output. After the transformation of No.1 converter, the weight was estimated to be 100 tons, and it had more reaction capacity to optimize the metallurgical process. It was expected to be completed in March 2020.
Primetals'' scope of operations included designing the internal structure of the new steel mill, supplying Vaicon 2.0, trunnions, bearings and other related parts, supervision and personnel education.
