It is reported that the US and Brazil has already reached an agreement in the steel product tariff exemption.
Brazil accepted to cut down 30% of its annual steel importation to the US and also decreased its steel slab importation to the US from 3.8 million tons per year to 3.5 million tons annually.
In return, Brazil was given the permanent tariff exemption of the exported steel products to the US. The manufacturers believed that the recent accelerating decline of Brazilian steel slab price was directly linked to this factor, while the other relative factors included the exchange depreciation and the US buyers'' delayed purchase.
