Recently, Chinese steel companies have expressed their opposition and declared that they strongly supported the Chinese government’s countermeasures to against the United States government’s unilateralism and trade protectionism.
In 2017, Chinese steel production exported to the United States accounted for only 1.6% of total exports, but only accounted for 3.1% of the United States'' steel imports. Even so, the United States still imposed 25% tariffs on Chinese steel products.
In particular, China and the United States, as the world''s largest and second largest economies, had strong complementarity in economic and would have a huge impact on both sides even the global economy.
