It was reported that the US government has proposed to Brazil steel to take import quota to ease the trade barriers after a long run negotiation last month.
According to the sources, the import quota would be calculated based on the quantity of steel exports to the US.
The result showed that Brazil strove to negotiate with the US for the exemption, which was a part of US president Donald Trump''protectionism.
As the negotiations in progress, before the end of this month, the US government would agree to exempt Brazil from Section 232.
The sources said that the US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross and Brazil Minister of Foreign Affairs Nunes discussed this issue in the Summits of the Americas (SOA), held in Lima, Peru.
