mada, Japanese major machinery maker, announced on Wednesday the firm launched out next generation fiber laser processing machine and welding machine. Each machine’s sales price is set at 100 million yen and Amada plans to sell each 20 sets in 2011. The firm enhances presence in sheet-metal processing market.
New fiber laser processing machine mounts 4kW fiber laser oscillator, which can process non-ferrous metals such as copper, brass and titanium and other difficult-to-process materials. Amada succeeded in the latest fiber laser development thanks to the supply of fundamental components from JDSU, American optical equipment maker, and Amada’s unique peripheral technology.
One fiber laser oscillator module has 600W output power. The machine is consisted of 7 modules generating total 4kW output power. The machine can process ultrafine materials and reduce running cost by more than 70% compared with CO2 laser oscillator.
Fiber laser welding machine mounts 4kW oscillator, 6-axis multiple joint robot and lightweight processing head. The machine covers from deep welding to surface treatment. In addition, the machine can integrate and streamline sheet-metal working data by original CAM.
Mr. Mitsuo Okamoto, president of Amada, said the firm plans to increase the sales of fiber laser machines to 150 sets in fiscal 2012 ending in March 2013 and 230 sets in fiscal 2013.
